This week's Good Facility is a cycle route alongside a major road between the city of Utrecht and Amersfoort.
It is composed principally of a service road - a road used for access to local properties alongside the main road. However (as can be seen) there are bollards to prevent motor vehicles driving along the route. This means the service road is only used by a small number of motor vehicles, making it an attractive, safe and comfortable cycling environment, with a 30kph speed limit. Far safer than the main road!
The sections of service road are of course connected up by (indistinguishable) sections of cycle-only road.
