This week's Good Facility is a straightforward example of a cycle path - not parallel to any road - in Kloosterveen, a new town to the west of the Dutch city of Assen.
This is a direct connection not available to motor traffic, connecting this suburb with the centre of the town. It is essentially designed exactly like a road, with street lighting to improve social safety, a centre line marking, proper drainage, and a separate footway for pedestrians, reducing conflict between the two modes.
