This week's Good Cycling Facility is a smooth, wide bi-directional cycleway, passing across a side road in the city centre of Delft.
There is a clear continuous footway across this side road, with ramps for motor traffic, as well as a waiting area so the cycleway is not obstructed by queuing motor traffic.
Another detail (in the background) is the clear separation between the parking bays and the cycleway, ensuing that anyone cycling is not at risk of being hit by an opening car door. Finally, the kerbs of the cycleway are designed to be forgiving, reducing crash risk.
