Good Cycling Facility of the Week: 23rd May 2019

This week's Good Cycling Facility is a cycle path in the Utrecht suburb of Lunetten.

These paths form direct connections across and through this suburb, but they are not available to motor traffic. Consequently cycling and walking is prioritised, while motor traffic is minimised - making walking and cycling a safe and pleasant experience.

A further detail is that this cycle path has no bollards to physically prevent motor traffic access - part of a general policy of bollard removal in many Dutch towns and cities, to reduce the risk of injury to people cycling.
