This week's Good Cycling Facility is an underpass running directly under (and allowing easy access to) Bilthoven railway station in Utrecht province, in the Netherlands.
Previously (as can be seen on Streetview) there was no underpass at this location, and a road crossed the railway at precisely this point on a level crossing. Now only cycling and walking have retained the direct route, with an underpass providing a conflict-free way of crossing the railway line, and the road being sent on a lengthy diversion around the entire station area.
As is always the case with underpasses of this form in the Netherlands, the gradients are shallow and easy to negotiate, there is open space and clear sightlines for social security, and walking and cycling are clearly separated with plenty of space for both modes.
