This week's Good Facility is a cyleway crossing of a side road, with priority, in the Dutch city of 's-Hertogenbosch.
The crossing is clearly marked in a way that makes it obvious that cycle traffic has priority - in particular, the red surface of the cycleway continues, uninterrupted, across the junction.
The junction is designed so that motorists can leave the main road, and then wait (if necessary) for people cycling to pass. The design also makes it easier for motorists to clearly see if cycle traffic is approaching, by making the crossing more perpendicular (drivers only have to slightly turn their heads with this arrangement).
The final detail is that this side road is an access road, leading only to residential property. It is not used as a through route, and therefore there will only be a limited number of potential interactions between cycle traffic and motorists.
