This week's Good Cycling Facility is a temporary protected bike lane in the Dutch city of 's-Hertogenbosch.
A large area of new construction to the south of city's railway station lies to the right of this cycleway. To maintain safe conditions for cycling, one lane of the road has been repurposed for a protected bike lane, with a long section of concrete divider separating people cycling from motor traffic. The cycleway then crosses a side road with priority, before connecting with a finished, permanent section of the city's cycle network. Safe, attractive conditions for cyclnig are therefore maintained during construction.
