Is there really 'no space' for cycling infrastructure?
This street in the centre of the city of Utrecht - Nobelstraat - shows that cycle tracks can be fitted in on conventionally narrow (yet busy) streets, even if that means choices have to be made about parking, and lane widths for motor vehicles.
Nobelstraat carries around 35,000 people by bus, and well over 15,000 people cycling, every day.
