While the Advanced Stop Line in this picture (and the complete absence of any protected cycleway on the approach to the junction) is definitely not good cycling infrastructure, this 'left turn bypass' at the junction of Millbank and Vauxhall Bridge in London is excellent.
It allows people travelling along Millbank to turn left onto the bridge without ever having to wait at the traffic lights, unlike motorists. In addition the turn is completely protected, meaning there is no risk at all from left hooks on the turn.
The cycleway here is wide, with smooth tarmac and low kerbs, to maximise the effective width. The crossing for pedestrians is flush, with tactile paving.
