April is the Busiest Month

A quick glance at the Embassy calendar  of events shows that the second half of April is going to be busy. Starting tomorrow there's This Big City's 'tweetchat' on what's stopping cities from becoming cycling cities. The day after, Climate Rush will be staging their 'Spring Clean'  of London's streets (or one street, anyway). Then there's CycleNation's planned seminar at the weekend and next week the Embassy's own Jim Davis will be attempting to 'ignite Lewes', although not literally we hope.

All this is leading up to what is now shaping up to be cycling's biggest weekend: simultaneous rides in London,  Edinburgh  (and Rome) in support of cycling safety. In London, thousands of riders will be pedalling closed roads from Hyde Park, while in Edinburgh the organisers of Pedal on Parliament are hoping at least a thousand cyclists will gather at the Meadows to deliver a petition on the Scottish Parliament.

We urge everyone to join one or other of these rides if they can, even if on foot. We also urge you to sign the Love London - Go Dutch petition the LCC are organising and the Pedal on Parliament Scottish petition
