Good Cycling Facility of the Week: 9th November 2017

This week's Good Facility is a cycle-only street near the city centre of Utrecht in the Netherlands.

The majority of Tulpstraat is entirely closed to motor traffic, with bollards at either end. Just as importantly, however, this street lies in a large area that competely filters out motor traffic. The surrounding streets are not usable as through routes for motor traffic, meaning that they are safe, quiet and pleasant for residents - who may be taking their children to the primary school in the background of this photograph. Tulpstraat is just the (exceptional) icing on the cake.
