This week's Good Facility is a reminder that - once upon a time - when Britain built big roundabouts, we didn't forget about walking and cycling, and that we also managed to build underpasses that weren't narrow, dark, dirty and unsafe.
This is an underpass at the Twin Bridges roundabout in Bracknell, which carries the A329. Perhaps today such a roundabout would be fitted with shared use pavements and toucan crossings (or no cycle infrastructure at all), but this roundabout allows people walking and cycling to negotiate it safely, and without delay.
The cycle path is wide and smooth (for its age) and clearly separated from the footway with a shallow kerb.
