Good Cycling Facility of the Week: 29th September 2016

This week's Good Facility is a simple addition to some cycle (and pedestrian) traffic lights outside Groningen station in the Netherlands.

The amber bar is a countdown to the next green phase for people cycling and walking, letting them know how long they have to wait until they can cross the road, reducing uncertainty and impatience (and any tendency to jump the lights).

A simple way to show consideration for people walking and cycling.
