This week's Good Facility is a two-way cycle facility on the new De Oversteek bridge in Nijmegen, crossing the Waal river and linking Nijmegen to Gelderland.
There is a concrete wall and glass partition separating this cycleway from the main road on the bridge, which insulates people walking and cycling from the noise and speed of motor traffic.
This facility is not perfect, however - there is no separate walking provision, and a number of the intermediate access points on and off the bridge involve steps. But it is a good example of how to design for cycling on bridges that carry large amounts of motor traffic.
You can read more about this bridge on the Bicycle Dutch blog.
