This weeks' Good Facility is a cycling and walking underpass, bypassing a major traffic junction along the N237, a large A-type road out of the Dutch city of Utrecht at De Bilt.
The underpass makes navigating this junction much easier, faster and faster for people cycling, and on foot. This tunnel is new, as well as others along this road, but a tunnel crossing this junction South-North on the east side has existed for decades already.
As with all good underpasses, it is built with separation between walking and cycling, good clear and open sightlines, and dedicated street lighting.
