This week we're featuring another cycle path alongside a rural A-road - this time in Scotland, along the A91 in Clackmannanshire, east of Stirling. (Photograph courtesy of Al Storer).
This path, with a tarmac surface, has replaced an old muddy path; it's comfortably wide enough for two-way cycling, and for sharing with pedestrians, in this rural location. The quality seems to disappear at the end of this track; nevertheless this is the kind of cycling infrastructure we need to be building alongside main roads in rural areas, making cycling a safe and comfortable experience on these routes.
