Good Cycling Facility of the Week: 12th October 2017

This week's Good Facility is a new protected cycleway in the Dutch city of Nijmegen. This street formerly had just painted lanes, as can be seen on Streetview.

The new cycleway runs between parking and the footway, which feels safer and more attractive, and removes conflict with vehicles that are parking. 

The cycleway and footway run continuously across the side road, to give a clear indication of priority. There is also a zebra crossing that runs (in distinct sections) across both the cycleway and the road.
