Help Scotland See Double

Campaigners across Scotland are joining forces to ask Scottish Finance minister John Swinney to double the budget for active travel - and keep on doubling it until it reaches 10% of the transport budget. The Stop Climate Chaos Coalition "We Want to See Double" demonstration will take place in Edinburgh at lunchtime (1 - 1:30 pm) on Wednesday 30th October outside St Andrew's House. 

Supported by Pedal on Parliament, Spokes, and many other campaigns across Scotland, the call for more investment in active travel couldn't come at a more apposite time, with news released yesterday that casualty figures were rising for both pedestrians and cyclists - despite road deaths overall being at a record low. 

We urge anyone who cycles or walks or wants to (which is everyone, basically) in Scotland to get along to the demo - or failing that to write to their MSP in support of its aims.
