Kings X Xmas Vigil - and January Budget Demonstration

The GB Cycling Embassy urges cyclists from both ends of the country to lend their support to two events calling for better cycling conditions here in the UK.

Next week, the London Cycling Campaign will join Road Peace, Living Streets and the friends and families of cyclists killed recently in the city for an evening vigil outside King’s Cross station. As well as remembering those who have been killed and injured, the event will highlight how much safer London’s roads could be if they were properly designed for bikes. The event starts at 6pm – come on foot or by bike and bring warm clothes, candles and a message for the mayor. More details here

Meanwhile, on January 11th, Spokes Lothian, and Stop Climate Chaos have organised a demonstration to protest at the Scottish government’s broken manifesto promises over funding for sustainable transport. Details of what will happen are yet to be finalised, although it’s likely to be for an hour at lunchtime. Bring a bike if you can and wear something stylish (and warm). More details here
