Cycle Infrastructure Tour: day one

The Cycling Embassy Dutch infrastructure tour started officially today with around 40km of extremely relaxed cycling around some of the high spots of Assen’s infrastructure.

Bike tracks, bicycle roads, shared space, roundabout bypasses and scramble junctions (all way green lights) abounded but – and I think the others will agree – the high point was trying out for ourselves the famous bicycle bins! Tomorrow we’ll be visiting some woonerven (‘home zones’) – old and new – and the station. We’ve taken thousands of photos and a lot of video so once we’ve managed to process them all we’ll be able to write in more detail. Watch this space.
