This week's Good Facility is an example of 'invisible infrastructure' - streets that don't appear to have any cycling infrastructure, but are still high quality cycling environments.
This street in the centre of the city of Delft is part of an autoluwe or 'nearly car-free area' - an area of streets that still allows motor vehicle access, but through careful design ensures that motor vehicle volume is very low indeed. In this case, by ensuring that these streets are not through-routes for motor traffic.
That means they are safe and comfortable enough for independent cycling by young children.
