This path in Zwolle forms a direct connection under a four lane main road, a railway line, and a further road, all without any delay, or interaction with motor traffic. It links the new suburb of Westenholte with the another new development, Stadshagen. There is no direct connection between these two areas for motor traffic.
Both these areas have very low levels of motor traffic within them; there is no through-traffic, only access motor traffic. But grade separation is essential for these kinds of crossings of major roads, both for safety and convenience.
The path has shallow gradients, and a wide separate footway; note also the brick noise barriers which greatly reduce the noise of passing motor traffic on the main road in the surrounding residential area.
